Nov 2 - At sea
Rolling along!
We’ve had a few waves today, but nothing serious! They just remind us we are on the high seas heading to the next port of call. There is a noticeable breeze coming from Antarctica, making the temps a bit cooler.
After a good sleep and a leisurely start to the day we went up for breakfast before heading to the theatre for the presentations. Hutch talked about Albany and Busselton, our next two ports. Bruce Perry continued his talks about the military in the Pacific; he showed photographs and talked about many of the men and women who enlisted, some of whom lost their lives on sinking ships.
Mary returned for his afternoon talk while Dorothy had a wee nap! ( it’s getting to be a habit!)
There will be a production show tonight with the Princess Singers and Dancers, Sweet Soul Music. Then, we turn the clocks back 1 1/2 hrs! They keep making it challenging to figure out what time it is! 🤷 I have to keep referring to the World Clock on my iPad to figure out what time it is at home!
I happened to come across this article about our arrival in Sydney!

We also had a hot air balloon welcome when we arrived in Melbourne!
Until tomorrow when I will post another update….

Nov 3 - Sailing Along
It’s been a bit of a bumpy ride today as we cross the Great Australian Bight. I found this about why it’s been so rocky….
The Great Australian Bight (GAB) is known for rough seas and storms because it's in the path of winter westerly winds. The GAB is also affected by ocean currents, including the Leeuwin Current and the Flinders Current
Thankfully, neither Mary nor I have been seasick! ( I think I may have outgrown that??) People are weaving along as they try and navigate the corridors and public areas, holding on to the railings, their walkers and canes!!! LOL
We went to our usual morning sessions in the theatre and then returned to our cabin. Mary went to Bruce Petty’s second session of the day; I don’t find him as interesting as the speaker on the previous cruise.
We’ll probably go to the show, although we did see Kathryn Relf on the last cruise. When we return to our cabin we will be setting our clocks back 1 hr for the last time!
Not much to report today! We are looking forward to being on land again tomorrow in Albany!
Until then….
The Two Sailors
Naps are mandatory here lol. Enjoy
