Apr 14 - Flight to Cape Town
Good morning!
Up bright and early to head off to the Bamba Tram through Zambezi National Park for a different view of Victoria Falls. This old tram took us through the countryside to the border between Zimbabwe and Zambia. One of the train people ran into the ‘Border Authority’ with a sheet of paper containing our names and passport numbers, and ran back to the tram and carried on! (A little different than at the border yesterday!) LOL
We got to the bridge that crosses the Zambezi River where the tram stopped and let everyone out for a look at the falls and the rainbows. They served coffee and cookies on the bridge and then the group went for another walk with the guide for a different view and a history of the bridge and its construction.
Then back to the hotel for breakfast! I wish there was more food on this trip!!! Oh my! We seem to be eating only about every two hours!!! LOL. Our luggage was to be ready for 10:15 AM to prepare for an 11 AM departure. We have a long day of travel ahead with a flight to J’Burg, a couple of hours layover, and then a connection to Capetown.
We arrived at our home for the next three days around 9 PM, Blackheath Lodge. What a lovely spot this will be!
and lounge
And our room - just waiting for them to switch our beds to twin…
Even the hotel logo on a sticker on the toilet paper roll!!! LOL
Tomorrow promises to be beautiful day for us to go up Table Mountain!
The Happy, Happy Travellers
Each day more amazing than the last! So glad you both were finally able to do it!
ReplyDeleteI must say you two look so happy. I laughed when you posted the picture of the bar. Your jacket just fit in perfectly with the safari theme. Ta ta for now. Can't wait for the next posting. Have fun.
ReplyDeleteRonnie said on Day 1 that each day gets ‘better and better’ - and so far it’s the truth!
