Oct 20 - Napier, NZ
A lovely day in Napier!
When we booked our tours a few months ago I was not planning on needing a walker to get around. Unfortunately recovery from the hip revision surgery has been much slower, and as a result I still cannot put weight on my right leg without support. A few days ago, I decided to cancel my ticket for today’s tour as I wasn’t sure how I would manage getting to the ‘boat’ to say nothing of hopping in and out of a zodiac!
SO…. Intrepid Mary is off on her own today to do the Mohaka River Float while I have stayed onboard to recover from the physical demands of yesterday’s tour. I’m sure she’ll post her photos taken from her waterproof cell phone holder on Facebook!! Nothing stops her!
Depending on when they return from the tour (expected at 4:30 PM) and how the day went (Will she be a drowned rat? ), we’ll decide whether to go to the dining room for dinner or just grab something at the buffet.
The show tonight is called ‘Princess World Orchestra’ and is described as a musical journey around the world. Hopefully it will be a welcome change from all the ‘unusual’ entertainment we have had to this point! The musical performances have made us feel we are out of touch with today’s entertainment - weird arrangements where we have struggled to identify the ‘melody’ and so-called ‘comedians’ who made us laugh once or twice during their acts, a hypnotist, and a couple of impersonators ( I thought Elvis was dead?).
The very best show was Danny Elliott, the phenomenal musician who sang and played so many different instruments. We’d love to see more of that kind of show!
Tomorrow we arrive in Wellington, the Capital of New Zealand. Stay tuned for more of our adventures!
The two Sailors!
Silly you…of course Elvis is alive and well! He’s on the Trump tour!!!! 😳
ReplyDeleteI’m sorry that you couldn’t make it on the tour but the right decision to play it safe. You can still enjoy life on the ship, right? Interesting that the entertainment isn’t that good though.
