Oct 26 - Sydney, AU
It’s Saturday, October 26! We’ve arrived!
It’s truly mixed emotions being here in Sydney! We are so happy to be back and ready to set out on another cruise from this beautiful city, but also sad to think we will probably never return. It was a beautiful morning as we entered the harbour.
This is the first time the Crown Princess has been here, so we had a wonderful welcome as we sailed into the harbour this morning. The fire tugs were out with full spray, water skiers were holding flags and waving to us as they skied past, and another boat welcomed us with a puppet up in the air on a huge water spout!
After we were docked we went up for breakfast and when we came back Sumeth was ready to move us next door! We left the ship about 10:30 to stroll around outside. We walked to an area called ‘The Rocks’ where we found a pharmacy to pick up a couple of things.
We wandered around for an hour or so, taking in the beautiful scene as we put in time until we could reboard.
We made our way back to the ship where hundreds of people were arriving and waiting to board. Once the ship was ready to accept passengers, we whisked by the long snaking lines to security as we had an ‘In Transit’ card that allowed us to bypass the check in and go straight to security.
We are back onboard again, so thankful to be here, anxiously awaiting our departure on our long-awaited Around Australia cruise!
We’ll keep you posted - tomorrow (Sunday) on our sea day, and then from Hobart, Tasmania on Monday.
The Happy Wanderers
Sydney, is a gorgeous place, one of my girlfriends moved there with her husband. He was there for business for five years. They had a really hard time moving back to Ontario, and now have moved back to Sydney. Whew…
ReplyDeleteQuite the water show upon entering the harbour! I’d have to go pee all the time 😂
Leaves are almost all on the ground, and temps are cooler for the coming week…then it warms up again. Waiting for a heavy couple of frosts, then covering lavender rows.
Enjoy this trip around Australia. Won’t you get dizzy? ❤️🐾❤️
Yesterday was a perfect day - warm and sunny! I haven’t checked the forecast for the upcoming ports. Not dizzy so far!
DeleteThis is all sooo beautiful and I am sooo happy for both of you! There will be other trips and keep enjoying! Hugs to both!

ReplyDeleteWell Dorothy and Mary once again we have all lived vicariously through your amazing travels. What a beautiful city and a wonderful welcome. By all that they did you can imagine the anticipation of the whole city to welcome you. A big thank you to Mary for her FB pictures and thank you Dorothy for your blog. Keep on sailing ladies.
Thanks Beckey! Oopps, I noticed your advice to Beatriz after I had replied to her!
DeleteThank you Ladies, sorry it takes a while to learn! Blessings
DeleteWow! That’s a lot of action to welcome you. I love your description of the flyboarders as ‘puppets’ - that’s very fitting! Have fun.
ReplyDeleteIt was fun to watch! We’ve never been on a ship when this happens. I do remember being on the Baltics cruise where, as we left Hamburg, there was a flotilla to a company us out - and they were playing the theme from Titanic!!😱😂
